Background of the Study
Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Jos North LGA play a significant role in addressing social challenges such as poverty, education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability. However, the success and sustainability of these organizations are heavily influenced by their financial accountability practices. Financial accountability ensures that NGOs properly manage resources, adhere to funding guidelines, and deliver their objectives effectively. This study aims to evaluate the effect of financial accountability on the operations and performance of NGOs in Jos North LGA.
Statement of the Problem
Many NGOs in Jos North LGA face challenges related to financial mismanagement, fraud, and lack of transparency in their operations. The study focuses on NGOs operating in Jos North LGA and may not reflect practices in other regions. A limitation of the study is the difficulty in accessing internal financial records of NGOs due to privacy concerns.
